WHERE TO WATCH: The match will be available to watch on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

WHERE TO LISTEN: The match will air in English on 950 KJR AM and in Spanish on El Rey 1360AM.

2024 RECORDS AND STANDINGS: Sounders: 0-1-2 (2 points, 13th West), Earthquakes: 0-4-0 (0 points, 14th West)

PREVIOUS MEETING: San Jose defeated Seattle 2-0 at PayPal Park on July 12, 2023, behind a 19th-minute penalty from Cristian Espinoza and a 65th-minute goal from Miguel Trauco.

HERITAGE CUP: Saturday marks the first of two fixtures this season on the Heritage Cup, which pays homage to the Sounders’ and Earthquakes’ days in the North American Soccer League. Both Seattle and San Jose are celebrating the 50th anniversaries of their respective franchises this season.

RUIDÍAZ RECORD: Forward Raúl Ruidíaz has a chance to set the Sounders club record for career goals in the MLS era. The Peruvian Designated Player converted a penalty last weekend to notch his 79th goal, tying former teammate Fredy Montero for the most all time in Rave Green.

ATENCIO SUSPENDED: Seattle will be without Josh Atencio on Saturday after the Homegrown central midfielder was sent off after receiving two yellow cards last weekend. Atencio had started alongside Obed Vargas in each of the Sounders’ three contests to start the 2024 season.

INTERNATIONAL BREAK: Seattle will not have any players unavailable due to the international break this week. San Jose, however, will be without Carlos Gruezo (Ecuador), Ousseni Bouda (Burkina Faso), Michael Baldisimo (Philippines), Cruz Medina (United States U-19) and Emi Ochoa (Mexico U-20).

POINTLESS START: San Jose is one of only two MLS teams to lose its opening four matches to start the 2024 campaign. Only the New England Revolution have also failed to record a point.

DEFENSIVE ISSUES: Contributing to San Jose’s pointless start has been its issues on the defensive side of the ball. The ‘Quakes have allowed nine goals through four matches, the most in the Western Conference and tied for third in the league.
