Another solid performance from the Sounders Academy as they came away with a trio of big wins on the road in California.
Sounders FC Academy traveled down to California this past weekend for games with the San Jose Earthquakes Academy and Cal Odyssey. The U18’s attack exploded for 12 goals in two games, including three goals and three assists from leading scorer Jordan Morris, as they picked up two wins and extended their unbeaten streak to seven games (4-0-3). The U16’s drew with San Jose and defeated Cal Odyssey, extending their own unbeaten streak to six games (5-0-1).
The teams will go to Sarasota, Florida from Nov 29-Dec 4 for the USSDA Winter Showcase. They will play three out of conference games versus Montreal, Chicago Fire, and Shattuck St. Marys. They return to league action on December 15 in a home bout with local rival Crossfire Premiere at Starfire Sports Complex.

Sounders FC at San Jose Earthquakes (November 17) – W, 5-4
After the Quakes got on the board early, the Sounders responded with two goals—a Jalen Markey score off a Kyle Bjornethun corner kick and a Jordan Morris penalty kick—before the home side responded with two more before the half. Down 3-2 in the second half, Bjornethun equalized with a free kick score, and then the Sounders scored two more when Ike Crook fed Morris for his second goal of the game and Isidro Prado-Huerta slammed a low shot into the side-netting. The Earthquakes would pick up one more late goal but Seattle prevented the equalizer and preserved the win.

Sounders FC at Cal Odyssey (November 18) – W, 7-2
The U18’s continued their offensive onslaught, building a 5-0 lead before the half, then adding another before the Odyssey managed to break the shutout. David Olsen scored a hat trick and Jordan Morris had a goal and three assists (including two to Olsen) as the Rave Green took down the home side 7-2. Henry Wingo had two assists and Duncan McCormick had a goal and an assist as the U18’s made it their third straight match with at least four goals.

Sounders FC at San Jose Earthquakes (November 17) – D, 1-1
Abdi Abdullah’s corner kick found Vic Mansaray for a second half equalizer as the Sounders FC U16’s picked up a road point against their MLS rivals. It was the first goal of the season for Mansaray and the first assist of the season for Abdullah as the U16’s saw their four-match winning streak come to an end.

Sounders FC at Cal Odyssey (November 18) – W, 2-0
Jose Ramos had a goal and an assist as the Rave Green defeated Cal Odyssey, 2-0, to get back on track with a road win in Visalia, California. Ramos scored an early goal, then found Ryan Degroot later in the first half with a corner kick for his first goal of the season. Ramos now has three goals and two assists on the season. Ben Willis kept the clean sheet in goal for the U16’s.
