Seattle Sounders FC (19-10-3, 60 points) fell to Vancouver Whitecaps FC (11-8-13, 46 points), 1-0, Friday night on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field. Sounders FC remains tied for first place with the LA Galaxy for the Supporters' Shield heading into back-to-back matchups with the Galaxy to finish the season.

With the result, Vancouver claimed the Cascadia Cup for the second consecutive season. Seattle drops to 11-4-1 at home against MLS competition this year.

Vancouver scored the match's lone goal in the 45th minute on a shot by Kekuta Manneh. Mannneh received a through ball from Pedro Morales down the left side, took the ball into the box, and finished with a left-footed strike that deflected off Stefan Frei and into the net.

In the second half, Seattle pressed hard offensively, but couldn't capitalize. There were various chances in the final minutes, including Clint Dempsey's side volley that missed the mark with the keeper not in net and a Brad Evans header that was cleared off the line by a defender.

The physical game included 30 fouls, 14 from Seattle and 16 from Vancouver.

Sounders FC plays the Los Angeles Galaxy at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. on Oct. 19 at 5:30 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN.
