SEATTLE, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC 2 today announced that it is has signed midfielder Guy Edoa. A 20-year-old from Cameroon, Edoa becomes the sIxth signing from the Central African country since 2016, joining forward Felix Chenkam and defender Rodrigue Ele on S2’s current roster. Last season, S2 signed midfielders Wily Kapawa and Mark O’Ojong, both of whom are no longer with the club, while defender Nouhou earned a First Team contract after appearing in each USL match last season.
“Once again, we have tapped into our Cameroonian pipeline to find another talented prospect in Guy,” Sounders FC Director of Player Personnel Kurt Schmid said. “Hopefully he takes advantage of every opportunity and thrives in our system.”

Like the other players who have come to Seattle via Cameroon, Edoa starred at Rainbow FC in Bamenda. This past season, Edoa recorded four goals and added six assists in 12 league matches. He also has 12 appearances for Cameroon’s U-20 team.
“We are very pleased that Guy has decided to join us in Seattle,” said S2 Head Coach Ezra Hendrickson. “He has the talent to make an immediate impact for our team, but once he is settled here we believe in his long-term potential, as well.”
S2, currently in seventh place in the Western Conference with a record of 7-9-2, hosts Swope Park Rangers on Thursday, July 20 at Starfire Stadium (7:30 p.m. PT / Live-streamed on Sounders FC.com).
