For the next edition of Sounders FC Classics, a new series in which we re-air some of the best matches in club history, we want you to choose the game!
Presented by Premera, each of the three options falls under the theme of Home Openers, spotlighting some of the most memorable victories on opening day throughout the years.
First up is Seattle’s dominant victory over the New England in the first game of the 2015 season. It was the Obafemi Martins and Clint Dempsey show as Seattle’s iconic striker pairing combined for all three goals in the 3-0 win. The next option is the home opener from 2017, when the Sounders unveiled their 2016 MLS Cup banner as they stormed past the New York Red Bulls for a comfortable 3-1 win. Finally, last season’s opening match against FC Cincinnati, in which Homegrown winger Jordan Morris bagged a brace to mark his return to the fray after missing the entire 2018 campaign with a knee injury.
