Seattle Sounders FC today announced its partnership with CLEAR, a biometric identity platform company working to build a connected world that is smarter and more secure. Fans attending Sounders FC matches at CenturyLink Field can now utilize CLEAR’s platform to enjoy expedited stadium entry. Furthermore, CLEAR is being implemented for all other events at CenturyLink Field, including Seattle Seahawks games, concerts and other entertainment events.
CLEAR offers a simple one-time enrollment that requires only a valid U.S. driver’s license or state ID, personal information including name, date and place of birth, email and a fingerprint scan. The enrollment process takes five minutes and those enrolled can immediately utilize CLEAR to pass through security lines quickly and easily. CLEAR users remain subject to bag screening and metal detectors and the stadium’s previous clear bag policy also remains in effect.
At CenturyLink Field, including Sounders FC matches, CLEAR lanes are available at both the northwest and southwest gates.
“We’re excited that our home, CenturyLink Field, is implementing CLEAR’s platform,” said Sounders FC Chief Operating Officer Bart Wiley. “Our club is constantly looking for ways to make our matchday experience even stronger, and we feel that the partnership with CLEAR is a perfect way to improve the entry process for our guests without compromising safety.”
Additionally, CLEAR is developing new biometric-powered stadium experiences, including ticketing and concessions. The company has been paving the way for biometric age validation at Washington State-based venues in 2018, which can enable experiences such as frictionless alcohol sales and more. CLEAR members at CenturyLink Field and Safeco Field can now buy food and drinks, while simultaneously proving that they are of legal age for alcohol purchases, all with just their fingerprints. Currently CLEAR concessions at CenturyLink Field are only available in the Delta Sky360° Club near sections 210 and 234.

A sports-only membership with CLEAR – granting users access to all CLEAR stadiums and arenas, including CenturyLink Field – is free. Membership to include CLEAR airports, in addition to the stadiums and arenas costs, $15 per month, billed annually.
