Following the team’s 4-1 win versus St. Louis CITY SC on Saturday night at Lumen Field, Seattle Sounders defender Nouhou, midfielder Obed Vargas and winger Ryan Kent were named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 11.
Nouhou was one of the three defenders to make the Starting XI, while Vargas and Kent were featured on the bench.
Nouhou was influential on both sides of the pitch. Not only did he win the most duels (8) in the match, he also provided an assist to Danny Musovski late into the second half while also collecting a goal of his own in the first minute of stoppage time.
Vargas earned a spot on the TOTM bench after finding the back of the net in the 61st minute to give Seattle the lead. Additionally, the Mexican international won seven duels and 100% of his tackles, recorded four interceptions, and made five recoveries.
Kent came on as a second-half subsitute for the Rave Green and made an impact as soon as he stepped onto the pitch. The England native assisted Vargas' goal only four minutes into coming into the match. He capped off the night with a second assist to Nouhou, laying the ball back to the defender for him to finish one-time from point blank range.
The Sounders return to action on Saturday to face the Houston Dynamo (5:30 p.m. PT; Watch on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV) at Shell Energy Stadium.
