The Sounders will kick off 2018 with a Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League series against El Salvador’s Santa Tecla on Feb. 22 before opening the MLS campaign on March 4 against LAFC.

With the Seattle Sounders holding on to a 2-1 lead on the road at the Colorado Rapids on July 4, Clint Dempsey iced the game with a vintage Dempsey moment.
Stefan Frei sent a goal kick well past the halfway line and onto the head of Will Bruin, who flicked it into the run of Dempsey. In a moment of magic, Dempsey fired home a left-footed wonder volley from 20 yards out past his United States international teammate Tim Howard and secured all three points.
