U.S. Soccer sends home injured Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris ahead of WCQ match in Panama

The United States national team sent home Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris on Saturday following the U.S.’ 6-0 win over Honduras in the third round of the Hexagonal in CONCACAF 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying.

Morris suffered an ankle injury in club play last Sunday during the Sounders’ 3-1 win over the New York Red Bulls, a match which he refused to leave after taking the knock in the first half. He would score the eventual game-winner in the second half.

Morris was a scratch and did not dress for Friday’s match against Honduras. He joins defenders John Brooks (sinus infection) and Michael Orozco (right knee) and midfielder Sebastian Lletget (left foot) as U.S. members sent home.

The U.S. have called in Club Tijuana midfielder Paul Arriola to bring the roster to 23 ahead of the United States’ next match in Panama on March 28.
