What a start in Colorado!
Clint Dempsey scored in the sixth minute to give the Seattle Sounders a 1-0 road lead over the Colorado Rapids on Tuesday. A great pass from Joevin Jones found a wide-open Dempsey in the box, and he fired a left-footed shot to the far post that beat U.S. teammate Tim Howard.
The tally was Dempsey’s team-leading sixth goal of the season. Dempsey earned his brace in the 85th minute off a stunning left-footed volley from the top of the box.
Dempsey now has three goals in his last two matches.
